Prof. Hsieh honored with the Outstanding Young Transportation Professional Award (傑出運輸青年獎) by the Chinese Institute of Transportation.

We are delighted to share that Associate Professor I-Yun Lisa Hsieh has been honored with the Outstanding Young Transportation Professional Award (傑出運輸青年獎) by the Chinese Institute of Transportation (中華民國運輸學會) — one of only three recipients nationwide in 2024, and the only university faculty member among them.

About the Award

The Chinese Institute of Transportation is Taiwan's leading professional society for the transportation field, and its annual awards are among the discipline's most established recognitions — spanning the Transportation Medal (運輸獎章) for lifetime contribution, the Outstanding Young Transportation Professional Award for early-career impact, and awards for exemplary transportation projects. In the 2024 selection, announced in November 2024, Prof. Hsieh was recognized alongside senior engineers from CECI Engineering Consultants and Sinotech Engineering Consultants — a testament to how her academic work resonates across both research and practice.

Research at the Energy–Transportation Nexus

The award recognizes Prof. Hsieh's contributions to sustainable transportation, where her team approaches mobility as an integral part of the energy system. Highlights of this research thread include computer-aided assessment of green transportation policies to accelerate Taiwan's energy transition, AI-driven green vehicle routing for smart sustainable logistics under the NSTC Outstanding Young Scholars Program, and pioneering work on Vehicle-to-Grid strategies within Taiwan's e-scooter battery-swapping ecosystem.

The honor capped a remarkable 2024 for Prof. Hsieh, following her promotion to Associate Professor and the NTU Outstanding Scholar Award (臺大拔萃學者) earlier in the year.
